Is It Worth It To Convert Surge Brakes On 1999 Jayco Eagle To Electric, Or Get New Surge Brakes?
Question:
Hi, we inherited a 1999 Jayco Eagle with surge brakes that have to be replaced. Is it better to replace or change to electric brakes?

It's definitely way less work to keep what you have, surge brakes, than it is to convert everything to electric. Personally I'd just stick with surge brakes, as the only benefit you really get to electric brakes is the adjustability of the brake controller, and I don't think you'll see a big enough benefit to justify the cost.
You'll need to know what size brakes your hubs take by either getting a part number from the hub, or measuring the inside dimensions shown below.
The most common options are 10" # AKFBBRK-35-D, or the 12" # AKFBBRK-7-D. If you send me some pictures of your hubs and brake assemblies I can also help confirm the correct replacements.
