Prodigy RF Trailer Brake Controller Will Not Turn On
Question:
I have an occasional use car trailer with Tekonsha prop RF brake controller. It was installed new last fall and seemed fire on a 2006 Range Rover. Used over two months. Cant find paperwork. Then it sat outdoors this winter two months and now hooked to a 2006 F250 will not work. When taken out of the loop the trailer and vehicle wiring work fine. Is there a battery in the unit and if so how does it charge? Will it come back to life if I leave hooked up for a while? Could the Range Rover 2006 be a vehicle that does not charge the circuit without some relay added like some of the other questioners? If so I could see why the battery was used without recharge and died in the cold weather with no use.

The Prodigy RF # TK94FR gets its power from the 12 volt circuit in the 7-Way. You can use a circuit tester such as # 3808 to test the 12 volt circuit on the truck 7-Way to make sure it is working. If not there is likely a fuse or relay that is missing or blown that needs to be replaced.
The issue that you are most likely having is that you have to pair the handheld unit with the truck since you are using a new vehicle, see the instructions linked for reference. If it will still not work then sitting outside if it was not covered could have damaged it and the unit will need to be replaced.
