Do I Need Two Power Wires When Installing the Universal Installation Kit Trailer Brake Controller

Question:

Howdy folks! Question: I just installed your 4 way flat plug connector on my hitch and went right in to installing your 7 way connector plug. My question is since I installed the 7 way with the duplex wire which the black wire in the duplex wire to the circuit breakers and then to the 12V battery. Is it necessary to rub the black power wire from the 4 way flat install to the battery. Wont the flat plug gets its power from the 7 way plug?

Yes, you will need to run two power wires to the battery when installing the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7. The first power wire that goes to the 4-way is for the converter and that's what actually powers the trailer lights. The second power wire that goes to the 7-way is for powering a battery on the trailer if equipped. If you don't have a battery on the trailer then the second power wire is not needed but the first is.
