Useable Span of Fastway Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock FA86-00-3160

Question:

Regarding the: Fastway Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock - 2, 2-1/2, and 3inch Hitches - 3-5/8inch Span Item # FA86-00-3160 Is the distance between the locking heads 3-5/8” ? Or is the total length 3-5/8”? This will be used on a Rivian R1T and the width of the factory trailer hitch receiver is 3-3/8” so the distance between the locking heads needs to be /= 3-1/2” Thanks,

In regards to the Fastway Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock part # FA86-00-3160, the distance between the two lock heads on either end is 3-5/8". This is also generally referred to as the useable span of the lock. I have created a photo below as well to further clarify.
