Why Won't The Curt X5 Rail Adapter Fit The 2017 and Newer Ford F-250?

Why wont the Curt X5 Gooseneck to 5th wheel adapter plate part# 16310 fit in a 2017 and newer f250 with a B and W turn over ball?

The Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter # 16310 will not fit the 2017 and newer F-250 as they use a short shank hitch ball. The longer shank on the Curt X5 will not fit those short shank holes.
Instead you will need to use either the Companion Fixed # BWRVK3500 or Slider # BWRVK3400 with the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1116.
