Parts Needed to Install Brake Controller and 7-Way on 1998 GMC 2500
Question:
I am wondering how I would check to see if my truck is wired for trailer brakes . I have a 1998 gmc 2500 that has a 4 way and 6 way at the hitch but it has its faults and would love to do away with all that and just install a 7 way as I have a trailer with brakes and a 7 way . Also want to install the red24fr , would I need the red69fr also ? Thanks

Your 1998 GMC does not have brake controller wiring so you would need to basically hardwire in one and since you want to get away from the 6-way the kit you would need is the part # ETBC7 which comes with everything needed to convert to a 7-way and wire in a brake controller like the BRAKE EVN part # TK63VR.
