Trailer Hitch For a 2009 Ford E-450 Chassis That Can Tow At Least 8,000 lbs.
Question:
Hello, I was wondering if you could recommend a hitch for a vehicle I am working on. It is a 2009 ford E-450 chassis with a 42 outside to outside rear frame width. I am looking for a bolt on type bracket if possible, with a class 3 or 4 rating, ideally Id like to be safe towing around 8k pounds with it. Drilling holes is not an issue as the frame is a blank slate on the rear. I appreciate any advice you can give me, thanks.

I have an option that will provide you with what you are needing, but there is no custom hitch for the 2009 Ford E-450 chassis. You will need to go with a multi-fit option.
The Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41990-07 has adjustable brackets that go up to 44", which will fit your 42" frame width. Once installed the hitch has a 16,000 lb. towing limit which is plenty for your 8,000 lb. needs. I have attached the installation instruction, which shows what needs to be done/used for both a bolt-on or weld-on installation.
