Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2001 Freightliner FS65 Bus

Question:

I have a 2001 freightliner fs65 bus. 34 Wide frame like a cab and chassis. It will be used to tow less than 7k lbs. Can you tell me my options?

You will need to use a receiver like the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41990-07 to mount to the frame on your 2001 Freightliner FS65 Bus. This receiver will fit frames up to 44" wide and has a 7" tall mounting bracket to bolt or weld onto your frame. This class V receiver is rated for a tongue weight of 1,600lbs and trailer weight of 16,000lbs.While this is much higher than your intended trailer it carries this rating as they know it can be used with much larger trailers if the need arrives later down the road.

We also have the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41990-16 that has a 16" tall mounting bracket if your frame is further away from the bottom of the body on your bus. This will fit the same 44" wide frame and has the same weight capacities.
