Recommended Motorhome Rated Bike Rack for Two Trek E-Bikes

Question:

I have a new Thule Easy Fold XT rack for our two new Trek e-bikes, approximately 52 lb. each. It works great on my Jeep Gladiator. We have now purchased a 25ft. 2023 Winnebago Navion, the folks at the Trek bike shop are telling us this bike rack is not recommended for this RV. Ive only used it twice and sick that Im now being told I cant use it with the Navion. Why is this? What would be a good replacement if in fact I cant use my new Thule Easy Fold XT rack? Thank you.

I completely understand your frustration but the bike shop is correct. The Thule Easy Fold XT item # TH903202 is not rated to be used behind a motorhome. It is not built to withstand the extra vibrations behind motorhomes and trailers. Instead you will want the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack item # HLY64FR.

The RV Rider bike rack has a similar padded clamp design. The cradles slide up and down and rotate to fit almost any bike so this will work great for your Trek E-bikes.

The RV Rider is rated to be used behind any motor vehicle, 5th wheel trailer, flat towed vehicle, and especially a motorhome like your Winnebago Navion. This bike rack has a 80 lbs capacity per bike and fits a 2" class III hitch.

I have linked a review video below so you can see the functions of this bike rack.
