Does Kenda 4.80/4.00-8 Tire & 8 Inch Wheel Fit Hub AKIHUB-440-2-1K
Question:
Question similar/related to question 687750 Have an early/ mid 60s Apache Eaglefoot camper, Ser# E 7105 EAGLE 1 inch axle, with 44643 bearings inside and outside. Im thinking the- AKIHUB-440-2-1K hubs would fit these, but had concern that the hub WIDTH is correct. If the hub width IS correct, would the wheel / tire combo Kenda AM30000 mate with that hub, as the existing tires are 4.80-8. ? And are they 16 inch overall diameter? Also, please differentiate between 4.80-8, vs. 4.80 X 8, vs. 4.80/4.00-8 Thanks !!

Expert Reply:
So 4.80-8, vs. 4.80 X 8, and. 4.80/4.00-8 tire sizes are all the same, just different ways of saying it. And for hub width, that isn't an issue, and because the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-1K has a 4 on 4" bolt pattern, and fits wheels that are between 8" and 14" you can definitely use the tire and wheel combo you asked about:
