Troubleshooting New Brake Controller that Isn't Showing Connection

Question:

I have a Tekonsha Primus in my 2011 Silverado, without hooking up my trailer is constantly flashes c , and of course when I do hook the trailer up it continues to do the same thing. I took the time to hook up to my neighbors trailer and there was no change. I bought a new controller and when I plug it in it doesn’t do anything at all, seems like the issue is somewhere within my truck it’s self, do you have any suggestions

It's pretty common to see this problem if there's corrosion on the pins of the trailer wiring connectors. What I would recommend is take some sandpaper to all of the pins of the trailer wiring to clean them off and improve the contact it will make with the trailer 7-way.
