Can Cruiser Bike And Womens Mountain Bike Both Fit Trunk-Mount Bike Carrier On 2007 Ford Fusion

2007 Ford Fusion using with one cruiser, and one hybrid womens MB I want to use this with my cruiser and my wifes hybrid womens mountain bike. Will kit work for both?

The Hollywood Racks Gordo 2 Bike Carrier, part # HRG2 has arms that are spaced 22 inches apart, and is intended to work with bikes with long wheelbases like cruisers, choppers, Townies, and recumbent bikes with a short wheel base. The distance between the arms may not be a fit for other style bikes. The distance from outside to outside of the cradles is 23 inches. I have attached a couple of photos from the installation instructions that shows where the cradle arms are attached to a bike with an alternative frame.

The use of an adapter like the Swagman Easy-Out Women's and Alternative Frame Bike Adapter, part # 64005 may help attach your wifes bike.

Although this is a fit for your Ford Fusion, you will want to check with your dealership to find out if the weight of the two bikes combined with the carrier weight are too much for your vehicle. The carrier does have a weight capacity of 100 lbs, but cruiser bikes and mountain bikes typically weigh more than bikes with traditional frames.
