Wiring Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole Vehicle End Trailer Connector for Curt Echo Brake Controller
Question:
I got your 4 to 7 pin adapter, p/n #30717 And have a 2023 Toyota Highlander Hybrid LE and need to convert the 4 pin plug dealer installed plug to a 7 pin. For a Curt Echo wireless brake controller. On your 4 to 7n pin adapter, besides the plug, do I only need to connect the Black to Positive battery and the White to grd? I know I dont need the Blue wire, BUT the yellow wire, do I need it???

In regards to the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole Vehicle End Trailer Connector part # 30717; the white wire goes to ground, the yellow wire gets tapped up, the black wire goes to the battery, and the blue wire goes into the cab to a trailer brake controller. If you're using a wireless trailer brake controller like the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller part # C51180 then the blue wire won't get used.
Instead of the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole Vehicle End Trailer Connector, I recommend the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way part # ETBC7L as it comes with multiple trailer connectors, a mounting bracket as well as everything else you need for a wireless trailer brake controller like circuit breakers.
