Can The Dexter Axle 10 X 1-1/2 Drum Be Upgraded To a 10 x 2-1/4" Drum?

Question:

Hello, Have a Jayco X17Z 2013 with the Dexter 10 x 1.5inch hub on the brakes. It is a 3,000lb torflex axle. The hub part number is 008-418-02. What would be an acceptable replacement or upgrade? Could I go to brakes and hubs for a 3500lb axle. It has 67048 inner bearing and 44649 outer bearing 10-19 seal. Thanks for your help -

You will need to replace your Brakes # K23-472-473-00 and Hubs with the same 10" x 1-1/2" brakes you currently have. The 3,500LB Hub/Drum # AKHD-555-35-K uses a larger inner bearing which will not fit on your spindle. You will need to source the Hub/Drum 008-418-02 from Dexter as we no longer carry this part.
