Recommended Weight Distribution Shank for a 2-1/2 Inch Hitch Receiver
Question:
My current truck has a 2-inch receiver and I use a weight distribution hitch when I pull a trailer. The truck that I have on order has a 2-1/2-inch receiver. Would this be the only piece that I would need to change and would it work with my existing hitch?

Welcome back. I took a look at your orders to confirm but yes, that is the only part you will need to replace. The Curt Weight Distribution Shank item # C17132 will work with almost all weight distribution systems. The shank does narrow down for use with a standard weight distribution head. It will definitely be compatible with the Reese Weight Distribution item # RP66021 you purchased awhile back.
It is also compatible with the Fastway systems like item # FA92-00-1200 that you were looking at.
I have linked a diagram of the shank below so you can see the dimensions.
