Are Hatch Huggers Required for Saris Bones Bike Rack on 2016 Jeep Renegade

Hello, We have 2016 Jeep Renegade and used the Saris Bones 3 bike trunk rack for the first time today. It seemed very secure…is it necessary to use the hatch huggers with it? If so, in which location should they be placed please. Thank you.

I checked with Saris, the Saris Bones 3 Bike Rack part # SA801BL which is a fit for a 2016 Jeep Renegade requires the Hatch Huggers for Saris Trunk Mount Bike Racks part # SA3035 to be installed in place of the upper hooks. There isn't a specific spot for these though, just place them inside the hatch and close it. They should align properly when the lower feet are set. The lower rack feet will then need to be placed into the license plate well.
