Adding E-Track To Interior Walls Of a 16 Foot Box Truck

Question:

Hi, I just bought a box truck, I think its a used 16foot penske truck built on a savana 3500 platform. The inside walls to not appear to have vertical studs. How would I attache e-track to them?

I do believe your walls have vertical tracks which is what you see the rub rails on the outside of the truck attached to along with the mounting holes on the inside which are securing the 2x4 boards on the inside. The etrailer Horizontal E-Track # e62VR depending on the loads you are securing to the walls may require additional fasteners to not cause any issues. You may need to attach some 2x6 or 2x8 lumber to the side walls before attaching the E-Track to have sufficient mounts along the rails of track.

If you do not feel comfortable with this project you can always contact a local installer who has experience with up fitting these chassis as they will be able to tell you exactly what structure is behind the paneling and if they can strengthen it if the walls are not sufficient.
