Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution For Flagstaff 22TBS Travel Trailer w/720LBS Dry Tongue Weight
Question:
I am looking at buying a travel Trailer Flagstaff 22TBS that has a GVWR of 6880 lbs, UWR of 4975 lbs and dry hitch wt. of 720 lbs. Using a simple ratio, I calculated a max hitch weight of 996 lbs of loaded to GVWR. I already bought the tow vehicle I will use, a 23 Chevy Tahoe rated for towing up to 8200 lbs. I dont know what the weight behind the rear axle would be while Im towing, but I assume I would have at least a cooler or 2 and other bags of gear in the back while towing. Is the10k w/ 1k TW the version of this Blue Ox hitch setup I should get or would I be better off with a different TW rating?

Expert Reply:
Yes, the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution # BLU55FR will be the correct system to use as long as your Flagstaff 22TBS has an underslung coupler. Otherwise you will need the Hitch # BLU77FR if you have a standard coupler which is mounted on top of the trailer frame. Both of these have the tongue weight rating of 800-1,000lbs of tongue weight. Your 720lbs dry weight will quickly increase to over 800lbs when the dealer installs a deep cycle battery and they fill the propane tanks.
