Brake Controller Recommendation for 2015 BMW X5 with 7-Way Adapter ETBC7
Question:
Hi I have a 2015 BMW X5 no towing package and have installed the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kitinch and the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 12 Gauge Wires. What is the easiest/best proportional brake controller to install if I want to have charging to the trailer Li battery while driving? I was looking at the Curt Echo Wireless Brake controller, but I wasnt sure how the additional required wiring would feed back into the trailer the battery is not accessible from the outside of the trailer.

The easiest to install brake controller on your 2015 BMW X5 that has the # ETBC7 installed would definitely be the Curt Echo part # C51180 as it basically just plugs into your 7-way and once synced to your phone is installed. I wouldn't say this is the BEST though. Sometimes people have reception issues with this controller which is why I say that. It still functions fine if it loses signal but for some people it's frustrating. I would recommend the Redarc Tow Pro Liberty part # RED24FR as the best option as it only requires putting a small knob on your dash instead of a big controller and is very reliable.
