Weight Distribution for a 3,000 Pound Trailer with 250 Pounds Tongue Weight

My trailer weighs about 3000 lbs and the toung weight is about 250 lbs would this system be ok

The Pro Series weight distribution system, # PS49583, is rated way too high for your 3,000 pound trailer and 250 pounds of tongue weight. The system is rated for 750 to 1,000 pounds tongue weight. If you were to use this system damage to the trailer could occur and the ride would be very stiff.
If you like the Pro Series systems then I recommend # PS49901. It is rated for up to 550 pounds tongue weight. When calculating tongue weight you will go by the tongue weight of the trailer when loaded and ready to tow and then add the weight of any cargo loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
