How to Run Battery Charge Line with Blue Ox Tow Bar Wiring Kit for Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Regarding Blue Ox Tow Bar Wiring Kit Item # BLU86XR: I have a 2020 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. I am using a RV Brake II portable braking system. The motorhome has a 7 way connector. How do you mount the this 4 wire to the front of the jeep and then to the the RV? If I use a 7 wire to 4 wire connector cord, it prevents me from using a battery charger line that is powered by the RV 7 way connector which I would use to ensure the RV brake II doesnt discharge the battery while towing? Thoughts?

If you needed to run a battery charge line and use the Blue Ox Tow Bar Wiring Kit part # BLU86XR you would simply remove the 4-way on the harness (vehicle side) and install a 6-way on the front which will then allow you to use a 7 to 6-way like the Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Straight Cord Kit part # RM-98146-7. The Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Straight Cord Kit then has an extra circuit you can run the battery charge line through.
