Upgrading to 6 Lug Hubs on Dexter 3,700 Lb Axle

Question:

I have a jayco with a Dexter axle, D40 capacity 3700lb, Dexter # 9425923, s/n 133287135017, can a 6 lug hub be installed in place of a 5 lug and will it take the same bearings and seal?

The Dexter 3,700 Lb Axle uses an L68149 inner bearing and a L44649 outer bearing so yes, you can get these bearings with a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern. I am not sure if you're after a hub or hub/drum so I have attached our complete selection below. The Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly part # AKIHUB-655-35-EZ-K for example is a great option if you need an idler hub or the Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-655-35-EZ-K if you need a hub/drum. These both have a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern and use L68149 and L44649 bearings.
