Does Brake Controller Install Kit ETBC7 Require Running Wire to Battery
Question:
Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires I have a Subaru ascent 2020 I bought this mentioned product and wanted to see if I need to run the battery wire up. The photo attached is the plug and play pre wire in car. It has the all the wires for brake controller which is also a plug and play tekonsha iq. Now my question is can this be plugged into the 4 flat as stated without running power to batt? Thanks I’m little confused here but trying to figure this out.

If your trailer does not need a 12 volt accessory circuit then you do not need to run the black wire of the # ETBC7 up to the battery. If all you need are taillight and brake controller functions this circuit does not need to be connected. This circuit is mainly used to charge trailer batteries but not all trailers have batteries.
