Can Bully Bumper Mount Backup Light # PL-807 Directly Plug In to Flat 4-Pole Trailer Connector
Question:
Id like to use it as a brighter reverse light on my truck. Id mount it under the bumper, but am I able to plug it into my trailer harness, right out of the box? Its the flat style, not the round type.

The Bully Bumper Mount Backup Light # PL-807 is designed for hard-wired installation by connecting to the reverse light circuit of your Chevrolet pickup. It is not intended to connect to a 4-pole or 5-pole flat trailer connector.
Installation is simple. You will connect the black (ground) wire to a clean bare metal surface on the vehicle or you can use an existing grounding point behind one of the taillight assemblies if one is available. The fused (red) power input wire will splice to the wire on your taillight assembly that carries the reverse light signal. Please see the linked photo.
You may be able to determine which wire this is by having a helper carefully put the truck into reverse gear while stepping on the brake while you are observing the reverse bulb. Once you know the bulb that is lit you can locate the appropriate wire for the reverse circuit. Another method, and what I recommend, is to use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to test the wires at the taillight assembly for the one that carries voltage only when the truck is in reverse gear. This wire will splice to the fused power wire on the Bully light.
