Operation Of Reese 5th Wheel Rail Adapter # RP30154 In Bed Of 2014 Dodge Ram
Question:
Im buying a 2014 Ram and wanted to know if the hitch has to be removed from the adapter before the adapter can be removed from the truck. It looks like the locking arms are too long to rotate without hitting the legs of the hitch or the wheel wells on the truck.

You are correct. The locking arms are what locks the Reese 5th Wheel Adapter, part # RP30154 in place to the pucks in the bed of your 2014 Dodge Ram. It would be impossible to move the arms without removing the hitch first.
Also, the weight of a fifth wheel hitch added to the weight of this adapter at nearly 75 lbs would make it even more difficult to handle.
