Troubleshooting Interior Lights On Enclosed Trailer Not Working When Connected to 2021 Ford F-250
Question:
I have a 2021 F250 limited. The exterior lights to the trailer are on but the interior aren’t. Turn signal, break light, and hazards are working fine. Just got everything new. Is there a specific way it should be hooked up to get it on?

Expert Reply:
Typically when the interior lights do not work on an enclosed trailer is is due to the charge line on your 2021 Ford F-250 missing a fuse. Be sure to check your owners manual and ensure all the fuses and relays for the towing system are in place and working. If the trailer is new be sure to verify with the trailer manufacturer if there is an onboard battery that needs to be connected for the lighting to work. Many have added an on board battery to reduce the chances of draining the vehicle battery. You can verify you have power on your 7-Way with a Test Light # PTW2993 by connecting to a ground and the 1 o'clock terminal inside your vehicle side connector.
