Suspension Enhancement to Create A Stiffer Ride On 2012 Dodge Ram 1500

Question:

Ive got a 2012 Ram 1500 and see that this part works well when under load. But Ive also been unhappy with the handling while unloaded. Too much sway and too much bounce. Will the 1500DQ help with that? I much prefer a stiffer ride, even if on the harsh side. Thanks!!

The Timbren Vehicle Suspension, part # TDR1500DQ, is not designed to give your 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 a stiffer ride when unloaded. The manufacturer has designed this system so that it has a gap when installed between the Timbren springs and the axle which allows the truck suspension to work in a normal fashion. When the truck is loaded the Timbren system engages the suspension and will provide a more rigid ride.

I recommend a system like the SuperSprings Vehicle Suspension, part # CSS-1168R. These insert between the coils of your springs. This insert would make the springs harder to compress and therefore provide a stiffer ride, while allowing the system to still work as designed. I have attached a photo that shows how the insert is installed.
