Is a Replacement Combustion Air Shutter Available for a Dometic 6 Gallon Water Heater

Question:

I’m looking for a combustion air shutter for my Dometic 6 gallon Rv water heater. It sounds like a jet taking off on the runway.

I do have an option for you but we don't offer this replacement part for that unit. The only option we would be able to offer is a full replacement which would not be a bad idea as you could take this time to upgrade to tankless which will provide an endless supply of hot water that is a big improvement over the six gallon tank you'll be replacing. The best replacement option we offer for a Dometic/Atwood RV Water Heater is the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater part # FR68SR. It won't be a direct replacement but still pretty easy nonetheless as they are very similar. That said, you won't have to worry about enlarging the cutout or anything like that, just switching over some fittings and wires is all.

If you don't want to switch to tankless, we do have another possible option in the Dometic RV Water Heater part # DMC74FR which is both electric and gas and has a six gallon tank.
