The axle should be held on to the suspension with u-bolts so unbolting those should not take long and the axle should come right off. This is if the leaf spring stack is on top of the axle and I imagine, barring any unforeseen problems, that it would take no more than a half hour including putting the new on on. This would be if you had an assistant.

If the leaf spring stack is below the axle then it will take a little longer because you will need to also remove the leaf spring stack so the axle can come down. Again without any problems it should take no more than an hour including putting the new one on. I have linked a video that should help. The axle and other components on the trailer in the video required some persuasion to come off. Hopefully it is easier for you!

These estimates do not include setting up and adjusting the brakes or any wiring. Just removing and reinstalling the axle. Individual results may vary.
