Recommended Replacement Pigtail and 7-way/4-way Combo For 2004 Silverado 2500 The truck has a 7
Question:
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 The truck has a 7 pin connector installed on it, how it does not have a 4 pin. Everything I connect to using the 7 pin works as it should. Using a pigtail or any type of adapter to be able to connect a 4 pin everything works until you apply the brakes while the daytime running lights are off, both rear lights stop working. It is the same with applying the brakes then manually turning on the running lights. Also, this issue doesn’t affect the marker lights. Any suggestions? I was looking to buy the 7 pin connector that has the 4 pin made on the side, but the truck no longer has the factory plug. Can I buy a new harness that has connectors on both ends plug that plugs into a connection on the truck and the plug that I can plug in a new trailer connector that is a 7 pin with a 4 pin made together?

It sounds like there's an issue with your current 7-way or the wiring on your 2004 Silverado 2500 as you mentioned it's already been modified to remove the factory plug.
What I recommend is testing and marking each function of the wires in the back of your 7-way, and then cutting it off to replace it with the replacement US Car Pigtail # PK11998.
This will allow you to install a more modern 7-way/4-way combo like the # 30955, and I would bet that you'll find your wiring issue during the replacement as well.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
