Recommended Trailer Brake Controller For 2004 Dodge Dakota Towing Small Travel Trailer

Need advice. Towing a small TT with my 2004 Dakota 4x4 4-dr 4.7L automatic w/o factory tow pkg. Pls recommend a brake controller.

For your '04 Dodge Dakota I highly recommend the Tekonsha BRAKE-EVN # TK63VR. This controller is one of the best bang for your buck options on the market as you get a very reliable proportional controller for quite a bit cheaper than the rest of the controllers like it on the market.

Being proportional is a big deal as that's what allows the controller to match the braking to the trailer to the braking you're applying to your truck for a super smooth and safe stop each time.

Since you don't have a tow package in your truck you'll also need the following parts to get this installed:

4-way connector # 118323
7-way connector # ETBC7

The above 4-way will plug into your factory wiring, and then the ETBC7 will plug into that 4-way and just require running a few more wires which are all included.
