Can Hopkins Brake Buddy be Used on Motorhome that has Air Brakes
Question:
Can I use brake buddy HM39494 with a motor home equipped with air brakes

Expert Reply:
If you have air brakes and a jake exhaust brake you would not want to use Hopkins Brake Budddy part # HM39494. This is because when the jake brake comes on and your taillights are activated it would tell the Brake Buddy to start looking for deceleration and would apply the towed vehicle brakes too aggressively. If you do not have a jake brake then this could work for you.
If you have the jake brake you'd want the Air Force One part # SM99243 which is designed for use with tow vehicles that have air brakes like what you have. I attached an install video for this kit on a similar Wrangler as your 2016 model as well.
