Recommended Timbren Axle-Less Suspension System & Hubs for a Homemade Off-Road Trailer

Question:

looking to build a trailer for my Tacoma. Itll be towing a dirtbike or two, some fuel, potentially a rooftop tent and a few other odds and ends. I would like to use the same tires on my Tacoma/vise versa. Looking for a 6x5.5 lug pattern that could accomodate the Factory toyota tacoma 16inch wheels. The tires are 265/70/R16. I plan on mostly visiting national parks and occasionally offroading. Im planning on the trailer being approximately 5x10 with a dry weight of no more than 1000# including tires. I will not be running brakes any this so an idler hub will be just fine. Will this suspension work? part # ASR35HDS02 Which hubs will work with this wheel/tire setup? Thank you in advance!

Yes, the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension - Heavy Duty # ASR35HDS02 will work great for your off-road application. This suspension system is compatible with a 4-bolt brake flange, has a weight capacity of 2,200-lbs, and will work great with 16" / 235/85R16 or larger wheels.

For a hub setup that'll work with this setup, I recommend checking out the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 5,200-lb Axles # 008-213-9B.

This hub assembly has a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern, a 3,000-lbs weight capacity, and will work with wheels up to 16-1/2" in diameter.
