I have provided a link for your that shows all the rear trunk mounted bike racks that are confirmed as a fit for your 2003 Toyota Prius.
Of the options available for your 2003 Toyota Prius, I recommend the Yakima HangOut 2 # Y02637 bike rack. It is designed to carry 2 bikes and is rated for up to 60 pounds total. Please note that with this bike rack installed, your rear wiper will not be useable, and it is not recommended to open the rear hatch with any accessories mounted.
If you do have a rear spoiler, it is possible that the Yakima may not secure and be fully supported for use on your Prius. If you do have a spoiler then I would recommend using the Hollywood Racks # HRF2 that is specifically designed for use with vehicles that have rear spoilers.
If you are transporting an alternative frame bike, like a womans, childs, step through, or alternative frame mountain bike you may be interested in using an adapter bar like the Yakima Tube Top # Y02531. Using an adapter bar provides a horizontal cross bar that allows these alternative frame bikes to be held in a level position, and can improve ground clearance.
The Thule OutWay 3 # TH56BV, is not confirmed as a fit for your Prius. The Thule fit guide indicated vehicle is not rated appropriately to support the weight of the carrier.
Of the bike carriers that we offer a trunk mounted bike rack would be your best solution. This is because it is more aerodynamic, and more cost effective than mounting a roof rack on your Prius. We do not currently have a hitch option that is confirmed as a fit for your year of Prius for a hitch mounted bike rack option either.
