How To Turn Off The Boost Setting Feature On Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885

Hi, Thank you for helping me choose the right product for my 2016 Toyota Sequioa. Im towing a travel trailer which is 5326 LBS. Forest river Mini lite 2506S 2023 I read all the instructions watched the video on your sight. Can you turn off the boost feature? If Im going through crazy crawling stop and go traffic will the trailer brakes lock up on me if I set it to 6.1? What is a safe setting please. Thanks.

Yes, the boost feature can be turned off on the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885. To do so simply press the boost button(small blue button to upper right of screen). The first time you press the button it will tell you the current level of boost you are running. By pressing the button again you will advance it to the next level (b.1,b.2,b.3) until you reach boost off (b.).
Unfortunately there is no way to say a specific brake setting number as every vehicle and trailer are going to be different. As this is a proportional controller the braking sensitivity sent to the trailer will vary based on how hard you brake as well and not just on the setting. You will just have to play with the adjustment to get the controller set to how you like it without the brakes locking up.
