Will Factory Tow Settings Activate on 2015 Audi Q5 With Curt Echo
Question:
I am looking at the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller for my 2015 Audi Q5 with the factory towing package. Will this unit still activate the factory tow settings since it is not plugged into the factory tow control unit? Thank you.

I believe you're asking if the trailer/towing mode will still activate if you use the # C51180 instead of plugging a brake controller into the port under your dash. Yes, this will still work on your 2015 Audi Q5. Since the Echo plugs in-line with the 7-way it will be no different from hooking up a trailer. The different settings will come from it detecting a connection on your 7-way, not the port under the dash.
However, you may want to consider a different model of the Echo, especially with the tow package. The Curt Echo Under-Dash Wireless Brake Controller # C27JR has the same functionality, but will mount inside the vehicle. The main unit can be installed behind the dash so it still won't be visible or in the way. You also won't have to worry about storing it or hooking it up each time. This will be a plug and play installation using the # C51522.
I have attached some review and installation videos for your reference.
