Mounting Option for the CE Smith Single Axle Trailer Fender # CE17960ATB
Question:
Could this fender be mounted like the installation video of Redline Trailer Fenders - J101733AT? Screwing through the lip of the fender.

Expert Reply:
I would not recommend mounting the CE Smith Single Axle Fender, # CE17960ATB, by screwing through the lip. You will have less than 1/2 of an inch from the bottom edge of the lip to the curve. This would not leave enough room for a washer to spread out the force of the bolt on the fender.
Instead, I recommend using trailer fender mounting brackets like part # CE26098G-2. These mounting brackets have 3/8 inch diameter mounting holes, so you will want to choose your mounting hardware accordingly.
