Can the Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter Be Used with a Rotating Pin Box
Question:
I have a 2007 Dodge Megacab dually with a BandW rollover ball. My camper has a Reese Sidewinder Air Ride king pin box that pivots 22inch behind the pin. Is this compatible with the Reese Sidewinder Air Ride?

Expert Reply:
No, the Curt X5 5th Wheel Base Rails Adapter # 16310 will not work with your Reese Sidewinder Air Ride king pin box. This is because the adapter is not compatible with rotating pin boxes like your Sidewinder. This is going to be the case with any adapter for the turnover ball.
You would either need to install traditional base rails or since you have a B&W turnover ball you can use the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # BWRVK3400-5W and lock out the Sidewinder so that it no longer pivots at the pin box.
