Troubleshooting Axle Out Of Alignment On a 2016 Grand Design Imagine 2600RB Travel Trailer
Question:
On my 2016 Grand Design Imagine 2600 RB I recently replaced all of the Brake assemblies and Drum assemblies with new Dexter parts purchased from E-trailer. Because I was having excessive tire wear on the right rear axle I checked the axle spacing while everything was apart. The specs call for a center distance between axles of 35 inches. The right hand axle is at 35 inches but the left side measures 35 1/2 inches. If the right rear tire is plowing that would explain the tire wear. There are no broken springs and visually nothing seems to be bent or loose. There is no provision to grease the spring bushings but they look OK. Is there a way to align the axles? Would new bushings help? Your thoughts please.

A Bushing # TRBU11566 would not cause the trailer axle spread to be off by 1/2". The first step I recommend taking is to verify you have all the correct leaf springs on your 2016 Grand Design Imagine 2600RB. As leaf springs can become longer from eyelet to eyelet as they flatten be sure to measure all your springs from common points along the curve to ensure one was not replaced at some point and is what is causing your issue.
The only alignment kit we have for your tandem axle is the Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit # RR23QX. This will also give you a 1-1/4" to 2-1/4" lift and allow you to move the axle 1/2" to the front or rear. Otherwise if you do not want the lift you can have the hanger cut off and rewelded in the correct spot.
