Compatibility of Thule Passage Part # TH910XT With Womens Bikes

Question:

I only see examples being used with bikes for men...can this rack carry a female bike?

The Thule Passage 2 bike rack you referred to, part # TH910XT can carry womens bikes, provided that there is a point on the seat post tube and down tube that are 14 inches apart (same distance that the arms of the rack are spaced). The problem with carrying womens bikes is that they usually need to be carried at an angle, which will leave one of the tires pretty close to the ground, with not much ground clearance. This problem is easily solved by using a frame adapter bar, like part # 64005. The frame adapter bar is width adjustable, and would connect at the bike seat post and handlebar gooseneck, therefore providing a level or nearly level attachment point to the bike rack. This will allow the bike to be carried so that it is more or less level, maximizing the ground clearance.
