Weight Distribuiton & Sway Hitch For Towing Travel Trailer Weighing 5,500LBS & 8,000LB Trailer

Question:

I need a sway control weight distribution hitch set-up for primary towing a travel trailer with total weight filled of about 5500 pounds with a 2018 f150 extended cab. I wanted the setup to work with this but also for the occasional use with a 8000 pound trailer do you have something that might work for both applications? Thank you

It is important to verify the amount of tongue weight your trailers have as that will ensure you find the correct weight distribution hitch. Personally I prefer to use the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET. This system is rated for trailers up to 10,000lbs with a tongue weight of 600-1,000lbs. Please let me know if your tongue weights do not fall within the weight rating for this hitch. We do have a Tongue Weight Scale # e99044 you can use to verify your tongue weight if you prefer to not have to drive to a scale.

I prefer the Equal-i-zer as they have a long standing history or quality and effectiveness. They are also Made in the USA and include a lifetime warranty. With having the 2nd trailer you can get 2 of the Replacement Sway-Control Brackets # EQ95-01-5600 to mount on the 2nd trailer so you do not have to move them from trailer to trailer. If you plan to install the hitch yourself you will need a Thin Walled Socket # EQ70-00-4800 to mount the included 2-5/16" hitch ball.
