Troubleshooting Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Circuit Tester # 8010 Lights Flashing Without Trailer
Question:
My tekonsha 8010 tester was working fine a few weeks ago, but now every time I need it the number five brake light blinks without being connected to a trailer, I would like to know what the problem is so I can find a solution

Expert Reply:
The flashing lights on the Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Circuit Tester # 8010 is an indication of a wiring short to ground. Since you do not have the trailer connector installed there is a chance the power is jumping between the terminals or the wires behind the connector are shorting together. If you are within your 1-year warranty you can contact Tekonsha about a warranty claim.
