Adding A T-Fitting To An ASME Motorhome Tank To Use Auxiliary Propane Tanks
Question:
I have a 2015 Winnebago View 24G and I have been looking for a extenda-stayinch type propane fitting to had an auxiliary tank for extended camping trips. With that being said, I have no luck finding such a product. In the past I have contacted Winnebago and they didnt offer any answers to my questions. The aforementioned extends-stay will not fit the design on my motor home. Okay, Ill cut to the chase. Will this MB Sturgi-Stay T-fitting work on my motorhome? And are there any special instructions on how to install it? With the design this motor home, the house propane tank is located under the middle of the chassis, and a filling hose is run out of the side under a compartment door. Im sure youre familiar with this odd design. Please let me know if this fitting, or any other fitting will work, and I will order it on the spot! Thank you for your help. it is very much appreciated!

Most motorhome ASME tanks utilize a POL fitting for the vapor port line that runs out to your regulator. I can't tell solely tell off of the photo but I'm sure that's probably the case. If so, you could use the # 103537-MBS between the hose and valve.
Before removing the hose you would want to shut off the valve and could drain the line by turning on a burner to take any pressure out. You could then thread on the # 103537-MBS and then reconnect the hose to the male POL fitting. You will not want to use any sealant on the threads since this fittings flare. The O-ring on the male POL fittings will form the seal.
The quick disconnect fittings will allow you to then supplement the ASME tank with a auxiliary tank in the event that it's empty. You could use a hose like # 100794-120-MBS to go from the quick disconnect fittings to a 20 or 30lb tank with ease.
