Trunk Mount Bike Rack to Carry 3 Bikes on a 2012 Acura TSX Sport Wagon

Hello - I see the Curt hitch for the Acura Sport Wagon is only rated Class I and Class I racks only hold 2 bikes. We have three bikes - are there any racks that would allow us to carry all three bikes?

You are correct about the trailer hitch and hitch mount bike racks for your 2012 Acura TSX. Class I trailer hitches available for your TSX can only hold 2 bikes. To carry 3 bikes I recommend a trunk mount rack, see link. A trunk mount rack is a more economical solution and they fit many vehicles (but not all).

Out of all of the 3 bike options my favorite is the Thule OutWay # TH56BV. I own this rack and I have to say that it is the easiest to use trunk mount rack that I have come across. The retractable straps make installation easy and they stand up better to the elements and the test of time compared to straps like other racks use.

It also includes the ability to lock the straps in place to deter theft. There is also an integrated cable lock in the last bike position.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # TH982XT. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my sons bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
