Can The Heat Pump From An Atwood RV Air Conditioner System Heat A 42 5th Wheel Trailer

5th Wheel trailers at 42' typically have at least two AC units to properly cool the space. The heat pump in the Atwood Air Command RV Air Conditioner System # AT15028-22 or any other AC system for that matter would not be enough to actually heat your trailer.

Heat pumps just reverse the flow of refrigerant in the lines to move cool air out of the trailer and warm air outside into the trailer. This would be better to take the chill off on a cold morning. Using this along with an RV fireplace like # FF30SC15ABL can help warm up your trailer using less energy than a furnace, but wouldn't be the best choice if you were actually in a cold environment and wanted to heat the trailer.

Your best choice would be to install a furnace, which we don't currently carry, but you could still get through Dometic, one of our suppliers.
