Will The Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch # BDW66FR Connect To a Stand Alone 12 Volt Battery?
Question:
This winch would be going on a car trailer. I dont want to run it through a vehicle switch. Just connected to a stand alone battery. Dont want any loose relays or wire blocks , just a positive and negative cable to attach to a deep cycle battery. Is that the way this BDW66FR works ? thank you

The Bulldog Winch Trailer Winch # BDW66FR you found only includes one positive power wire for connecting to the battery as it grounds the negative through the mounts. You would need an additional 1 gauge wire to run from the mount to the ground terminal on the battery to run off a stand alone battery.
We do have the Bulldog Winch Heavy-Duty Series Off-Road Winch # BDW94FR which is wired to connect directly to a stand alone battery. This is a much heavier duty winch which is rated for 18,500lbs versus 9,800lbs for the winch above.
