Thule AeroBlade Roof Rack and Cargo Box for a 2013 Mazda 5

Question:

Looking to buy a roof rack and cargo box for my 2013 Mazda5. You web site says my vehicle will work with part numbers TH7601, TH7602, and THKIT3080 for the roof rack. Can I use the Thule cargo box TH626 with that roof rack? Also, I presume Thule is one of the better or best brands on the market. Can I expect to leave that roof rack on my car all year round with out it rusting or decaying from sun and rain/snow?

For your 2013 Mazda 5 Thule roof rack # TH7601-TH7602 and fit kit # THKIT3080 will fit. The Thule Force XXL cargo box will physically fit the roof rack however it will be too long and interfere with the rear hatch when you try to open it. It will not open all the way.

The largest box that will fit with this roof rack system and not interfere with the rear hatch is the Force XT, # TH6358B. I have linked a video review of this box for you.

As far as the longevity of the crossbars you can leave them on all year round if you want to. The bars are made of aluminum so there is no worry about corrosion. The strip on top is rubber and the caps and feet are automotive grade plastic. Those parts could be prone to fading but I have not heard of any issues with that even on the entry level bars and kits.
