Will the Reese 20k Slider 5th Wheel work for a Trailer that Requires a 15-1/2 in Hitch Height

Question:

We are replacing our current Reese slider hitch. This one looks like what we need. The product description says it cant be adjusted to the lowest setting if using a slider. Our current slider hitch measures 14 1/2 inches from the bottom of the slider base to the top of the hitch. Will this product work? Thanks,

You should be able to use the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider # RP30084 that you referenced based on the height adjustments available and dimensions you said you have.

The head of the # RP30084 has a height range of 14-18 inches. This measurement is taken from the top of the hitch to above the fifth wheel rails. The measurement you gave me is from the bottom of the slider to the top of the hitch which means that you have 15-1/2 inches from the top of your hitch to the rail since its about an inch from the bottom of slider rails to the truck rails.

Since this is a slider hitch and you can only use the top 3 adjustment positions this hitch actually has an adjustment range of 15-3/4-18 inches. Which should be close enough for your setup.

Check out the review video I attached for this hitch as well.
