Can The Pollak Starter Solenoid Be Installed Exposed to the Elements?
Question:
Can the Starter Solenoid # PK5231201, be installed outside the vehicle where it will be exposed to the elements? For instance, I would like to attach it to the frame of my hitch-mounted cargo basket.

Yes, you can absolutely install the Starter Solenoid # PK5231201 exposed to the elements. This is designed to be installed inside your vehicle's engine compartment which is not exactly sheltered from the elements, so you shouldn't have any issues.
To install this, you'll just want to run a wire from the positive terminal on your vehicle's battery to the left post on the solenoid, and then from the right side of the solenoid, you'll run a wire to whatever accessory you're trying to power.
Attached is a mock diagram for you to check out, as well as a FAQ for you to check out as well.
