Can Brake Controller Work Through 6-Way to 7-Way Trailer Wiring Adapter

Question:

I have an 09 international workstar dump truck. It has a 6 pin receptacle for trailer wiring. I have an equipment trailer with a 7 rv blade plug. I have bought a 6 pin round to a 7 rv blade adapter to make that connection work. Here’s my question, if I add a brake controller like the p2 to my dump truck, will it operate the brakes on my trailer the way it comes after wiring the controller up?

Yes, brake controllers like the P2 # 90885 work just fine through a 6-way to 7-way adapter. The circuit that gets dropped off going from the 6-way to the 7-way is not the brake output circuit and is the reverse light circuit.
